Hybrid- Iron4 Replacement

Cleveland Hibore Hybrid- Iron3 Replacement
Cleveland Halo- Iron4 Replacement
XX10 Hybrid- Iron4 Replacement

i have been playing 9holes recently.. my score was in the highs of 70++ and lows of 60++.. i was wondering if i can improve my second shot with a hybrid.. the distance i am looking for is around 180yards.. therefore i have tested 3hybrids today..

first, callaway hibore.. hit it quite far.. further than 180 yards.. so, this is not the club i am looking for..

next, callaway halo.. after adjusting my swing, i managed to hit a couple of good balls with it.. unfortunately the sound of the club face hitting the ball was not that appealing.. so, i decided i would not want one of these in my bag..

lastly, a very rare XX10 U7 Hybrid.. love the sound 'ping!!' when i hit the ball using this hybrid.. distance was around 180yards.. therefore, i decided i must have this club.. lets see if i can get it for discount tomorrow from the person i borrowed from..

Swing Importance

(i am hoping to do better on my next visit to Tasik Puteri Golf Cource, Bukit Besi..)

i have been doing swing drills for the second week continuous. at least, now i understand more the importance of a good swing.. a good swing will ensure:-

1. consistent club to ball hits..
2. determine ball trajectory and loft..
3. effortless swing throughout your game..

W20; Week One, Day One Training

Learn to swing is the first thing to do.. doing it the right way can put extra distance or loft to your ball trajectory.. basically, swing can be divided into 6 parts..

Part1:
  • address the ball..
  • left palm gripping the club firmly while the right ONLY guiding it..
  • thumb pointing towards the ball.. firmly hold club with your left palm..
  • club handle pointing your stomach..
  • back straight.. chin up..
  • shoulder move anticlockwise.. left palm should move from left knee to right knee..
  • no movement on the wrist..
  • body weight balance on both feet..

Part2:
  • lift the club anticlockwise until parallel to the ground.. (like shaking hands to the person behind you)
  • make sure the club is straight pointing opposite to the target..
  • twist your wrist a bit..

Part3:
  • lift your club until full swing..
  • left elbow straight.. right elbow bend 90 degrees..
  • left hand slightly firm, right hand relaxed..
  • club face pointing your target..
  • body weight shift from left to right feet..
  • both knee to move together..

Part4:
  • shift body weight from right to left fee together..
  • down swing your club..
  • maintain your stance firm on the floor..

Part5:
  • hit the ball..
  • eyes still on the floor..
  • lift your club until 90degrees to the floor..
  • left foot firm on the floor..
  • feel your shoulder touching your chin (left to right shoulder)..

Part6:
  • twist right knee to face target..
  • complete the club swing..

points for improvement:
a. do not down swing to fast..
b. memorise all the tips above..
